Escape the Week

Privacy

What Escape the Week stores about you (almost nothing), where it lives, and the partners your clicks reach.

Who we are

Escape the Week is run by Nisbus SL (NIF B66902412), C/ Numancia 185, 8º-2ª, 08034 Barcelona, Spain. Nisbus SL is the controller of the personal data described here. Write to valdimar@nisbus.com about anything on this page.

The short version

There are no accounts, we never take payment, and we run no advertising or analytics of our own. Most of what the site remembers stays in your own browser.

What stays on your device

The site keeps your theme, language, saved weekends and trip settings (where you travel from, who is going, dates and budget) in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them.

If you press "use my location", your browser asks your permission and gives the site your position. The site uses it in your browser to pick the nearest departure city; the position is not sent to our server. If no departure city is close, the point is kept in local storage until you choose another one.

Tips you send us

The tip form sends what you write, the page you were on, your language and, only if you fill it in, a way to contact you. We use it to improve the itineraries and, if you left a contact, to reply. We keep a tip while it is useful for that and delete it, with any contact, when you ask. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Requests to our server

Like every website, our server receives your IP address with each request. We use it to stop abuse by limiting how many requests, tips or AI-agent calls one sender can make; the counter stores a salted hash of the address, not the address, and forgets it within the hour. The web server also keeps ordinary technical logs (address, time and page requested) for security and fault-finding. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the service available.

The same applies to the public interface for AI agents (MCP): a request carries no personal data unless the agent sends a tip on your behalf.

Partners and third parties

Booking links take you to partner sites (such as Aviasales, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Klook and Booking.com) and carry an affiliate tag so the partner can credit us if you book. What you do there is governed by the partner's own privacy policy. We receive commission reports, not your personal details.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when it fetches them. Some partner links pass through a redirect run by Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, which records the click so the partner can credit us; that happens only when you click such a link. We load no other third-party code and set no cookies of our own.

The site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, inside the EU; Cloudflare answers the DNS lookups for our domain.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict its use, and ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Write to valdimar@nisbus.com. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
